Pet Friendly Vermont Cabins If you are looking for pet friendly lodging in New England, travel to Vermont and enjoy our quiet forest cabins. The Grunberg Haus is a pet friendly bed and breakfast. We are pet owners ourselves and we welcome pets in our cabins but not the main inn building. The cabins are located on a mountainside forest behind the inn and are open from late May to the end of October. Each cabin is designed for quiet getaways for couples . . . and their pets! They are a cozy 16 feet square and feature a queen bed; bathroom with shower, toilet and sink; sitting area with woodstove; paddle fan at the top of a vaulted ceiling with exposed wood beams; microwave oven with free set ups for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, popcorn; small deck with chairs; hiking trails through the surrounding forest (your dog will love going for a walk there). Click the photo above too see a sample interior. All three cabins are similar, just decorated a little bit differently. They are about 50 feet apart and are surrounded by trees, many of them towering white pines.
These are Vermont cabins at their best - woodsy, informal, peaceful. A perfect place for you and your pet to hide out in the Green Mountains! We welcome well behaved dogs, cats, and even birds in the cabins with prior notification for a small fee of $5/night, minimum of $10, but we do not allow them in the inn for the sake of any guests who have allergies. The cabins rent for $140/night. During holiday and fall foliage periods, cabins are $180/night. On some weekends and the fall foliage period, there is a two night minimum. Those rates are for two people and include full cooked breakfast at the inn each morning. The cabin rates also include all linen, towels, and daily housekeeping so you can just relax. We give a ten percent discount for extended stays of four nights or more. Of more interet to your pet is the fact that there are 40 to 50 acres of trails in the woods surrounding the cabins. Dogs love exploring these trails and sniffing all the new and strange scents they find along the way. It's a great way to give your pet a long walk before taking off in the car for the day. You'll find your pet will travel better after a nice walk like that. Plus, there are many other hiking trails within a short driving time that are ideal for pets. We'll be happy to sit down with you and review the options - there are trails for every range of dog size, age and condition. We've hiked many of them ourselves and can give you a first hand account of what to expect. There are also some dog parks in Burlington (45 minutes drive) that we would be happy to direct to as well. And if you would like to go swimming with your dog, we know of several nearby swimming holes we can give you directions to. In short, this area of Vermont is a great place to vacation with your four legged friend. |
